University Bridging Program (UBP)
The University Bridging Program (UBP) is designed to help students make a smooth transition from learning English as a Second Language (ESL) to academic studies at university or college. The program provides students with the academic learning skills they need to succeed in their academic future.
About UBP
The purpose of the UBP is to provide students with the kinds of academic learning skills they need to succeed in their academic future. The program gives students ample practice with concepts and assessments they will be exposed to in a post-secondary education setting.
Duration
The UBP is a 13-week program, with students completing 3 modules that are 4 weeks each. Students who successfully complete the modules will sit a final exit exam in their last week.
Entrance Requirements
Students can enter the UBP in one of the following ways:
- Successfully completed ALCC's EAP Level 5 with a mark of 70%
- Met the requirements of ALCC's Placement Testing
- Submit one of the English proficiency test scores below, complete a placement interview and a written assessment:

Program Completion Requirements
To successfully complete the University Bridging Program, students must:
- Complete all three modules
- Write the final exit exam
- Attend a minimum of 80% of classes
- Achieve an average of no less than 70%
- Complete all major assignments
Partner Institutions
The UBP has partnerships with various universities and colleges in Canada, allowing students to study at any of these institutions upon completion of the program.
