The Chief Operating Officer (COO) Program is a 9- to 12-month learning journey designed to equip executives with the mindset, tools, and frameworks to lead with confidence and clarity. The program is ideal for newly appointed COOs, heads of operations, vice presidents, and other senior executives looking to gain executive leadership skills and advance into C-level positions.

• Program Fee: US$21,200 (US$19,500 with early registration benefit)

Curriculum

The comprehensive curriculum is structured around three core pillars: strategy, business transformation, and leadership. The program includes:

• Phase 2: Business Transformation
• Phase 3: COO as a Leader
• Executive Reflection
• Electives: Choose any two from a list of available electives, including:
  • Designing and Building AI Products and Services
  • Internet of Things (IoT) — Design and Applications
  • Supply Chain Management: Leading with AI and Digital Transformation

Electives

The electives are designed to explore practical strategies that enhance skill sets and help advance careers. Each elective is taught over 6 to 10 weeks.

Faculty and Success Coaches

The program is designed and delivered by renowned faculty from MIT's Mechanical Engineering Department, Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory, and AeroAstro Department, as well as the MIT School of Management. Success coaches are assigned to each cohort to help craft the learning journey in line with career goals.

Certificate and Continuing Education Units (CEUs)

Upon successful completion of the program, participants receive a verified certificate of completion and 21.6 CEUs.
