Program Overview

The Cybersecurity Master's Degree Program at City College is designed to equip students with the advanced technical skills needed to thrive in a highly demanded field protecting the world's electronic infrastructure.

Admissions

• Eligibility: The program offers pathways to students from all majors to join.
• Application: Individuals can complete the program as full-time or part-time students and begin the program in either the Fall or Spring semester.
• Rolling Admissions:
  • Spring 2026 Deadline: December 1, 2025
  • Fall 2026 Deadline: June 12, 2026

Academics

• Curriculum: Many of the courses in the curriculum are offered in the late afternoons or evenings to better accommodate working professionals and student internships.
• 4+1 Accelerated Master’s: Available for eligible students.

Faculty

Faculty at The Grove School of Engineering have decades of experience in areas such as artificial intelligence, information assurance, and fault-tolerance, cryptography, secure vehicular communications, access control, and telecommunication network security, among many others.

Research

The Cybersecurity Program team is regularly meeting with private sector partners to enhance academic content and applied learning opportunities for students in the program. Recent research awards include:

• NSF awards $3.8 million grant to NYU/City College/Stanford team to build and implement new methods of cryptographic computing.
• Professor Jois Awarded Sui Foundation Grant for Work on At-home Key Custody for Web3 Platforms.

City College is a public institution with a tradition of making education available to all. Full-time students can complete the program in 3 semesters and New York State residents will pay less than $20,000 for the degree.
