نظرة عامة على البرنامج

Human-Centered Intelligent Systems M.Sc.

Overview

The Master of Science in Human-Centered Intelligent Systems provides a deep understanding and practical experience in the rapidly evolving field of intelligent interactive systems. The program integrates artificial intelligence, human-computer interaction, and system architecture, focusing on key challenges in AI-driven interaction, ethical considerations, and industrial applications.

Program Structure

The program consists of three main blocks:

  • Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning
  • Human-Centered and Interactive Technologies
  • Application and Social Impact

Two compulsory lectures introduce the first two blocks: "Introduction to Learning Systems and Data Science" and "Design of Interactive Systems." In the third block, courses like "AI Ethics" are offered. Special interests from other areas of computer science can be pursued in a small fourth block.

A distinctive feature of the program is the large proportion of practical laboratory courses, which can account for up to 20 credits. These are made possible by the unique cooperation with the Fraunhofer Institute for Applied Information Technology (FIT) and for Intelligent Analysis and Information Systems (IAIS). An additional laboratory course can be conducted at the university, at the Fraunhofer Institutes, or in collaboration with industry.

Admission Requirements

  • A recognized first university degree, demonstrating the necessary background knowledge for the Master's program.
  • English language proficiency.

Career Prospects

Graduates with a Master's degree in Human-Centered Intelligent Systems are well-prepared for the typical challenges in computer system technology and for creative work with advanced AI systems and applications. The region around Aachen, Bonn, Cologne, and Düsseldorf offers numerous potential employers, including global corporations and research institutions.

Module Handbook and Examination Regulations

The module handbook provides an overview of all modules in the program, while the examination regulations govern study objectives, prerequisites, study sequence, and examinations.
