Program Overview
The UCSF Fresno Family Medicine Residency is a dynamic program that has graduated more than 400 residents since its inception in 1970. It is a model for community-based training, balancing service and education needs for a large multi-cultural underserved population.
Program Description
UCSF Fresno offers a well-balanced curriculum to its residents who are trained at a wide variety of clinical sites encompassing a breadth of inpatient training as well as ambulatory training in both urban and rural settings. Additionally, our program offers regularly scheduled didactic sessions.

Program Description Continued
Our department has a strong administrative infrastructure which allows residents and faculty to concentrate on learning and caring for patients. Clinical and administrative personnel are dedicated to assisting with residency scheduling, coordination, research and grants, practice management issues and providing key quality assurance and utilization feedback to residents.
Program Outcomes
UCSF Fresno graduates are physicians who are confident in their knowledge and skills in all areas of family medicine and practice in a variety of rural and urban settings and as health care advocates for the populations they serve.
