نظرة عامة على البرنامج

Program Overview

The LANGUAGE & CULTURE IN SALVADOR program offers students the opportunity to experience Brazilian culture while living in homestays in Salvador da Bahia, the third largest city in Brazil and an important hub for Afro-Brazilian culture. In addition to Portuguese language courses taught by local instructors, this program provides critical engagement with Brazilian culture through a course offered by UT faculty as well as lectures by local experts on a range of topics relating to music, religion, and identity. Students participate in dance and percussion workshops, visit communities to learn about art and education, tour museums and historical sites, and enjoy festivals that take place in the month of June.
