Master of Natural Resources Stewardship (MNRS) Program
The Master of Natural Resources Stewardship (MNRS) degree is a coursework-intensive, professional master's degree for students with some prior natural resources or agriculture experience. All types of experience (volunteer, paid, etc.) over any length of time are considered. It is intended to provide students with a broad natural resources education and specialized resource management expertise in one of four specializations: Ecological Restoration, Forest Sciences, Rangeland Ecology and Management, or Western Ranch Management and Ecosystem Stewardship.
Program Details
- The program can be completed in three fall and spring semesters (one and a half years) of full-time coursework or as long as 5 years.
- On-campus students will require a minimum of 2 years (four fall and spring terms) as many on-campus courses are only offered every other year.
- Some courses require prerequisites that incoming students may need to complete.
- The length of time required to complete the program depends on the student's background and desired courses.

Program Requirements
The MNRS program is a coursework-based Master's program. Students can complete the MNRS program in just one and a half years of full-time coursework.
Specializations
- Students may complete the Ecological Restoration, Forest Sciences, Rangeland Ecology and Management specializations at CSU's Fort Collins campus or online.
- The Western Rangeland Management and Ecological Stewardship specialization is only available on CSU's Fort Collins campus, although students may take some electives online.
