Introduction to the Master in Global Public Policy (MGPP) Program
The Master in Global Public Policy (MGPP) program is a two-year academic master's degree program launched by the Global Public Policy Research Center of Fudan University in 2022. The program aims to cultivate high-quality global public policy and management talents for Shanghai, China, and the world.
Program Features
- International Faculty Team: The faculty team consists of renowned scholars and officials from top universities and international organizations.
- Interdisciplinary Curriculum: The curriculum integrates knowledge from management, economics, politics, law, and other disciplines, as well as the latest quantitative policy analysis methods.
- Multilateral International Exchange: During their studies, students will have opportunities for international exchanges, visits, and internships with top universities and international organizations.
Program Structure
The program is designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of global public policy, including its theoretical foundations and practical applications. The curriculum includes:
- Core Courses (12 credits):
- Global Public Policy (3 credits)
- Policy Research Methods (3 credits)
- Governance and Public Policy (3 credits)
- Public Economics (3 credits)
- Elective Courses (10 credits): Students can choose from five elective directions, including:
- Political Economy
- Health and Social Policy
- China Studies
- Global Development
- Public Administration
- Master's Thesis (7 credits): The thesis must be written in English, with a brief Chinese abstract. Students are required to participate in thesis proposal and defense, and pass the thesis review and final defense.

Degree Awarded
Upon successful completion of the program, students will be awarded a Master of Public Administration degree from Fudan University.
Tuition Fees
The tuition fees for Chinese mainland students and students from Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan are the same, following the regulations of the Ministry of Education. International students' tuition fees are 100,000 CNY per year, with opportunities to apply for Chinese government scholarships.
Admission Requirements
- Eligibility: The program recruits 20 students each year.
- Application Requirements:
- Chinese mainland students: must have a bachelor's degree from a reputable university, with a GPA of 3.5/4 or above, and proficiency in English.
- Students from Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan: follow the requirements for Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan students applying for master's programs at Fudan University.
- International students: must meet the requirements for international students applying for master's programs at Fudan University.
- Application Procedure:
- Chinese mainland students: follow the application procedure for recommended students.
- Students from Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan: follow the application procedure for Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan students.
- International students: follow the application procedure for international students.
