About the PhD programme

The Faculty of Humanities is the largest humanities faculty in Norway, offering a PhD programme that allows students to work with some of Europe’s best researchers within the field of humanities and participate in exciting research projects.

Programme Details

• 3 years full-time studies and research
• Presupposes funding and admission
• 30 credits coursework
• A thesis, trial lecture and public defence
• The Faculty has around 180 PhD Candidates and approximately 120 are employed as Doctoral Research Fellows.
