Winter Spanish Program

The Winter Spanish Program is a trimestral language course offered by the Universitat Pompeu Fabra (UPF). The program is designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the Spanish language, focusing on communication skills and methodology.

Course Characteristics

• Duration and modality: 30 hours of face-to-face classes (total of 75 hours of learning-teaching).
• ECTS credits: 3 ECTS credits. To obtain credits for extracurricular language training, students must obtain the certificate of completion of the course and submit it to their academic coordinator at their university of origin. The university of origin will decide how many credits to recognize. At UPF, international degree students can recognize up to 3 credits per Spanish course, with a maximum of 6 credits (according to current regulations).
• UPF certificate: If the course is completed, students will receive a UPF certificate with the achieved MECR level by email, approximately three weeks after the course ends.
• Number of students per group: minimum 10, maximum 20.
• Access: Open to anyone over 16 years old.

Course Schedule

The course schedule varies by level:

• Level A1: Tuesdays and Thursdays, 10:30 AM - 12:30 PM or 2:30 PM - 4:30 PM.
• Level A2: Mondays and Wednesdays, 10:30 AM - 12:30 PM or 2:30 PM - 4:30 PM.
• Level B1: Tuesdays and Thursdays, 10:30 AM - 12:30 PM or 2:30 PM - 4:30 PM.
• Level B2: Mondays and Wednesdays, 10:30 AM - 12:30 PM or 2:30 PM - 4:30 PM.
• Level C1: Tuesdays and Thursdays, 10:30 AM - 12:30 PM or 2:30 PM - 4:30 PM.
• Level C2: Mondays and Wednesdays, 10:30 AM - 12:30 PM or 2:30 PM - 4:30 PM.

Calendar and Registration

• Course calendar: From January 26 to March 17, 2026.
• Course code at Virtual Secretariat: 1675/7.
• Registration period: From November 17, 2025, to January 11, 2026 (or until all places are filled).

Admission Requirements

To enroll directly in a level above A1, students must demonstrate their level by:

• Sending a certificate.
• Taking a free online level test.

Once the level is confirmed, the enrollment will be confirmed, and if necessary, the course level will be adjusted.

Tuition Fee

The unique tuition fee is 270€, which includes:

• Teaching.
• Course materials and resources available in the Aula Global.
• UPF course certificate.

Refund Policy

If a student enrolls in a Spanish course and finally cannot attend, Idiomes UPF will refund the full amount of the enrollment, provided that the request is made in writing before the start date of the course. Otherwise, no amount will be refunded.
