The Scienze della Vita program is a three-year doctoral program that aims to provide high-level research and scientific training opportunities for students with a background in biological sciences, medicine, engineering, physics, chemistry, and pharmacology. Objectives

The program's primary objective is to offer students a comprehensive understanding of the molecular mechanisms underlying fundamental biological processes, with a focus on health and disease. The program is divided into three curricula:

Curriculum 1: Biologia e genetica dei procarioti e dei virus

This curriculum focuses on the molecular mechanisms of procaryotic cells and viruses, including host-pathogen interactions, immune responses, and mechanisms of antimicrobial resistance.

Curriculum 2: Bioinformatica e Omica, Struttura e funzione delle macromolecole, Scoperta di nuovi farmaci

This curriculum concentrates on the properties of biological macromolecules, interpreting biological complexity in phenomena such as cellular reprogramming, cancer, and host-pathogen interactions. Approaches include structural biology, biochemistry, bioinformatics, and drug design.

Curriculum 3: Biologia e genetica molecolare e cellulare delle cellule eucariotiche; Biologia dello sviluppo; Fisiologia cellulare

This curriculum explores the molecular mechanisms underlying fundamental processes in eucaryotic cells, including signaling networks, cellular trafficking, metabolism, and cellular reprogramming.
