Professional D.P.T. Program - Tampa Bay

The Professional D.P.T. Program - Tampa Bay is a hybrid program that combines online and face-to-face instruction. The program is designed to provide students with a comprehensive education in physical therapy, including:

  • Applying knowledge and skills learned in the classroom at clinic sites
  • Studying an evidence-based curriculum that combines simulation, interprofessional education, and service-learning

Admission Requirements

To be considered for admission to the Professional D.P.T. Program - Tampa Bay, applicants must meet the following requirements:


  • Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university
  • Minimum 3.0 Science + Movement Science GPA
  • Minimum 3.0 Prerequisite GPA
  • Grade of C or better in each of the 11 prerequisite courses
  • Official GRE scores (verbal, quantitative & analytical)
  • Official Test of English (TOEFL) for international students

The Professional D.P.T. Program - Tampa Bay is a 3 1/3 year program that includes:

Scholarships

Scholarships may be available for DPT students through NSU or other sources. Students may also qualify for financial aid.


Background Checks

Background checks are required for clinical education experiences and activities. Some citations on the background checks may prevent a student from being assigned to or result in the student being denied placement at clinical sites.


Health and Vaccine Requirements

Students are required to comply with the Health Policies found in the Student Handbook. In addition to these requirements, clinical sites may require compliance with other conditions for student clinical placements.

The NSU Professional D.P.T. Tampa Bay Program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE).
