Continuing Professional Development Certificate in Effective Coaching and Mentoring (ILM level 5)
The Continuing Professional Development Certificate in Effective Coaching and Mentoring is a professional development program offered by the Bristol Business School. This program aims to equip participants with the skills and experience necessary to develop their coaching and mentoring abilities.
About the Program
The program is designed for managers, aspirational or early career freelance coaches or mentors, and individuals seeking to take up coaching or mentoring as part of their role. It is firmly rooted in academic ideas and research, and the team of tutors, all practicing coaches and mentors, will navigate participants through the ways in which coaching can support and embellish practice, theory, and coach/coachee behaviors.
Program Structure
The program consists of seven sessions, with four sessions delivered online and three sessions taking place at the Bristol Business School. The program will help participants move away from formulaic questions to an engagement of managers in complex ways of thinking. Practice will be a key part of the class, including the use of live examples of coaching, working in coaching triads, and giving and receiving feedback.
Learning and Teaching
The program will be delivered through a combination of online and face-to-face sessions. Participants will need to be comfortable using the internet and searching for information online. Session materials will be presented through various sources, including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, PDF, and online tools and workbooks to aid self-reflection and peer discussion.
