Occupational Therapy (Pre-registration) MSc (PGDip)

The Occupational Therapy (Pre-registration) MSc (PGDip) is a professional degree that gives students the license to register and practice as an occupational therapist with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). The course is approved by the Royal College of Occupational Therapists and the World Federation of Occupational Therapists.

Introduction

This intensive degree runs over 45 weeks per year for two years, balanced between campus-based study and clinical practice. The course is ideal for graduates of any subject who wish to gain both a professional and academic qualification and start a career in this challenging and highly rewarding field.

Entry Criteria

• Degree and experience: An honours degree, 2:1 or above in any subject area, normally completed in the last ten years.
• Work experience in health or social care is preferred but not essential.
• Other requirements: Two academic/professional references and a 500-word report demonstrating the applicant's understanding of the diversity of occupational therapy.
• English language requirements: IELTS 7.0 overall with no element below 6.5.

• UK (full-time): Ł9,790
• International (full-time): Ł19,854
• Additional funding support: UK students studying nursing, midwifery, and some allied health professions subjects receive a non-repayable grant of at least Ł5,000 each academic year.

Location and Student Life

The course is taught at the Falmer campus, which is set in the South Downs and has extensive sport and leisure facilities. The campus has two halls of residence on site, as well as a library, restaurant, and cafes.
