Program Structure

The CAS in Dance Science: Psychology & Education comprises 16 ECTS points and is part of the Master of Advanced Studies (MAS) in Dance Science. The program includes 22 course days (147 contact hours) and 16 ECTS points (approximately 480 working hours in total).

Modules

The program consists of four modules:

Module 1: Lifelong Dancing

• Duration: 6 days (4 ECTS points)
• Content: Developmental psychology, communication, pedagogical characteristics, didactics, and curriculum design for different age groups and populations.

Module 2: Balancing a Dancer's Life

• Duration: 3 x 2 days (4 ECTS points)
• Content: Motivation, personality, stage fright, coping with stress, and the role of the social environment in a dancer's life.

Module 3: Educating the Gifted Dancer

• Duration: 2 x 3 days (4 ECTS points)
• Content: Identifying and fostering dance talents, strategies for dealing with talented dancers, and life after a dance career.

Module 4: Embedded Research Skills

• Duration: 2 x 1 day (1 ECTS point)
• Content: Ethics in research, methods of survey techniques, design of questionnaires and interviews, and evaluation/analysis of data.

Assessment

The assessment includes:

• Presence at block appointments (minimum 90% in total)
• Written papers
• Oral presentation

Organising Institution and Faculty

The program is organized by the Institute of Sport Science, with a team of experienced lecturers and program management members.

Admission

Candidates must meet the specified admission requirements, which may be waived for exceptional experience in the dance field.
