Program Overview
The Psychothérapie psychanalytique: Psychanalyse et institutions program is designed to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of psychoanalytic theory and practice in institutional settings.
Objectives
- Acquire theoretical knowledge and explore models of care adapted to patients with proven mental health disorders, and to the institutional context.
- Deepen understanding of central notions of psychoanalysis from the perspective of psychopathology and psychotherapy, in the context of multiple and complex institutional practices.
- Elaborate on the clinical experience of participants from a psychoanalytic perspective within care facilities.
Target Audience
- Psychologists (in training or holding a specialist title)
- Psychiatrists (in training or holding the title of psychotherapist)
Program Structure
- Theoretical and clinical teaching: 80 hours of face-to-face instruction (principally on Thursday afternoons) + approximately 160 hours of personal work
- Group supervisions: 12 sessions of 2 hours (principally on Thursday evenings), totaling 24 hours of face-to-face instruction + approximately 24 hours of personal work
- Theoretical-clinical work: 4 hours of face-to-face instruction + approximately 24 hours of personal work
Admission Requirements
To enroll in the program, participants must have completed a basic training in psychoanalytic psychotherapy, such as:
- CAS in Psychanalyse and psychopathologie clinique (UNIL)
- CEPUSPP formations of the psychanalytic axis (DP-CHUV)
- Or any other training deemed equivalent
Tuition Fee
The total tuition fee for the program is CHF 4,900.
Duration and Credits
- The program runs from January 2025 to December 2025.
- It awards 10 ECTS credits.
Teaching Methods
Each theme will be approached through:
- Theoretical courses
- Reading seminars
- Psychodramas (staged clinical situations)
- Group elaboration around the identity of the psychotherapist
Supervisions
Group supervision is an integral part of the CAS training. Participants will present their clinical work several times during the supervision sessions.
Theoretical-Clinical Work
Participants will write and present a short thesis. An individual accompaniment is ensured for each participant by a member of the Scientific Committee during the elaboration of the project.
Partnerships
The program is offered in partnership with the University of Geneva and the University of Lausanne, and in collaboration with the Institut Universitaire de Psychothérapie, Département de psychiatrie-CHUV (DP-CHUV), and Faculté de biologie et de médecine, Université de Lausanne.
Direction and Coordination
The program is directed by Prof. Pascal Roman, Faculté des sciences sociales et politiques, Université de Lausanne, and coordinated by Marine Di Maggio, Université de Lausanne.
