The Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) / Bachelor of Music Conjoint program is designed to develop a practical understanding of technologies while also expanding musical technique and understanding. This program allows students to combine diverse interests, supported by leading researchers, artists, and facilities.
Program Overview
The BE(Hons)/BMus is a five-year degree that requires students to complete 690 points, including 420 points from BE(Hons) courses, 255 points from BMus courses, and 15 points of General Education. The program structure depends on the chosen major/specialization, with a common first year of required core courses before selecting a specialization.

Entry Requirements
Secondary School Qualifications
- New Zealand: University Entrance (UE) standard, rank score, and specific subject requirements
- International Baccalaureate Diploma: minimum total score of 24, with Mathematics and Physics at HL level
- General Certificate of Education (GCE) Advanced Level: minimum of three A-Level subjects, with Mathematics and Physics
Tertiary Qualifications
- One semester of successful bachelor-degree level study at a recognized university
- Grade Point Average (GPA) of 5.0 or equivalent
- English language requirements: IELTS Academic score of 6.5, with no bands less than 6.0
