Master's Degree Programme in Responsible Management and Business of Sport
The international Masters Degree Programme of Responsible Management and Business of Sport (RESPO) is a collaboration between the Faculty of Sport and Health Sciences and School of Business and Economics (JSBE) at the University of Jyväskylä.
Why this programme?
Prepare for global challenges in sport management with ethical and responsible leadership training. The programme educates professionals of sport management for the needs of private, public, and nonprofit sectors.
Programme Info
- Two-year full-time programme (120 ECTS credits) taught in English
- Application period once a year in January
- Studies begin in August, with no mid-point entry to the programme
- Based on their background studies, the student will receive a degree of M.Sc. in Economics and Business Administration or a degree of M.Sc. in Sport Sciences.
Tuition Fee
10,000 for students from non-EU/EEA countries, with an Early Bird discount of 1500 for accepting the study place within 14 days.
Structure of the Degree Programme
The degree structure is composed of various components, including expertise in sport management, language studies, and optional studies, aiming to develop every aspect of the students academic education and professional expertise.
Admission Criteria and Application Instructions
Admission criteria include a suitable educational background and proof of English skills. The application period is in January, and applicants must complete the online form available in the Studyinfo.fi portal.

The programme gives in-depth knowledge and skills to plan and execute strategic and tactical activities in managerial and expert positions related to management in todays sport society. Graduates will master identifying the core areas and objectives of management and business of sport, applying principles of responsible and ethical thinking, and utilizing academic knowledge and analytical tools to support decision-making.
