The Licentiate of Sacred Theology (Postgraduate studies) is a non-modularised postgraduate programme in Catholic theology. It is aimed at graduates of the full theological programme Magister Theologiae, teachers of Catholic theology, and holders of the Roman baccalaureate. This programme deepens the competences acquired in previous theological studies with specialisation in a theological sub-discipline.

Application Documents for Applicants with a German Degree

1. Magister's certificate in Catholic Theology, or Proof of the first state examination for teaching in public schools in Catholic Theology, or Proof of an equivalent degree, with an overall grade of at least 2.5, including a Transcript of Records.
2. Transcript of Records including the achieved average grade (if the Magister's certificate or equivalent degree is not yet available).
3. Curriculum vitae.
4. Letter of motivation.
5. Proof of language skills in Latin, Greek, Hebrew (optional).

Application Documents for Applicants with a Foreign Degree

1. Magister's certificate in Catholic Theology, or Proof of the first state examination for teaching in public schools in Catholic Theology, or Proof of an equivalent degree, with an overall grade of at least 2.5, including a Transcript of Records. If the originals are not in German or English, a certified copy or a certified translation by a translator sworn in Germany is required.
2. APS certificate: For applicants from China, India, and Vietnam.
3. Transcript of Records including the achieved average grade (if the Magister's certificate or equivalent degree is not yet available).
4. Curriculum vitae.
5. Letter of motivation.
6. Proof of German language skills on level B2 CEFR.
7. Proof of language skills in Latin, Greek, Hebrew (optional).
