Introduction to Data & AI Program

The Introduction to Data & AI program is a 2-month course designed for professionals who want to explore the possibilities of data science and AI within their organization. The program is part of the Mastering Data & AI series and is offered by the Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e).

Program Overview

• The program consists of 6 sessions of 8 hours each, with an additional 4-8 hours of weekly preparation and assignments.
• The price for the program is 3,950 (VAT exempt).
• The program starts on either May 8, 2026, or October 30, 2026.

Competencies and Key Learning Objectives

After completing the program, participants will be able to:

• Assess the viability and potential of candidate data science/machine learning projects in their organization.
• Execute a data science project using the CRISP-DM methodology.
• Grasp the basic principles underlying data science/machine learning problems and know how to apply them.
• Understand and apply commonly used machine learning techniques in Python or Knime and integrate them in a pipeline to load, explore, and model data, and evaluate results.
• Assess the quality of data science & AI projects.

Target Audience

The program is designed for professionals who:

• Want to explore the possibilities of data science and AI within their organization.
• Seek a deeper understanding of how to execute data science and AI projects and improve these processes within their organization.
• Want to apply their knowledge directly in practice, creating a tangible impact on their work and organization.
• Have completed a Bachelor's and/or Master's degree and have several years of work experience.
• Have the ambition to grow into a senior professional position, combining technical expertise with boundary-crossing skills in leadership, entrepreneurship, complex problem-solving, and critical thinking.

Certificate

Participants will receive a certificate of attendance upon completing the program.

Location

The program will take place at the TU/e campus, specifically at the Eindhoven Artificial Intelligence Systems Institute (EAISI) Building: Neuron. Physical presence on campus is required on lecture days (Fridays).

Mastering Data & AI Program

The Introduction to Data & AI program is the first module of the Mastering Data & AI series, which consists of three modules:

1. Introduction to Data & AI: This initial module serves as the stepping stone into the world of MDAI, providing participants with a solid understanding of fundamental concepts and principles.
2. Applications of Data & AI: In the second module, participants will delve deeper into practical applications of MDAI, focusing on real-world scenarios, case studies, and hands-on experiences to solidify knowledge.
3. Mastering Data & AI: The final module represents the pinnacle of the program, where participants will master advanced techniques, tackle complex challenges in their own organization, and gain the expertise needed to excel in MDAI.
