The Master in Assistenza Sanitaria a Pazienti Stomizzati ed Incontinenti (Master in Sanitary Assistance to Patients with Stomas and Incontinence) is a program designed to provide nurses with solid knowledge and skills in the care of patients with stomas and incontinence.

Program Description

The program aims to train professionals in the recognition and documentation of problems related to the underlying pathology, diagnostic and therapeutic treatments in various stages of the disease, and in different age groups of patients. The course covers topics such as epidemiology, types of stomas, surgical interventions, and nursing care for patients with intestinal and urinary stomas.

The program is designed for nurses who have acquired a bachelor's degree in nursing or a diploma in nursing. Graduates will be able to work in hospitals, clinics, and private healthcare facilities, and will be able to direct specialized outpatient clinics in stomatherapy and pelvic floor rehabilitation.

Programma (Program)

The program includes three modules:

1. Modulo 1: Epidemiology of intestinal and urinary diseases, types of stomas, surgical interventions, and nursing care for patients with stomas.
2. Modulo 2: Rehabilitation of the pelvic floor, including treatment of fecal and urinary incontinence, and multidisciplinary approaches to diagnosis and treatment.
3. Modulo 3: Methodology of research, including evidence-based nursing, literature search, and critical analysis of research studies.
