Graduate Certificate in Child and Family Health

The Graduate Certificate in Child and Family Health is designed for midwives and nurses who want to gain the fundamental skills needed to progress into child and family-focused care and evidence-informed policy.

Course Overview

The course comprises four online subjects (24 credit points in total) and includes:

• Foundations of Child and Family Health
• Family and Community Health in Practice
• Growth and Development in the Younger Child (first 1,000 days) 40 hours of placement
• Growth and Development in the Older Child (the preschool years) 80 hours of placement

Duration and Intakes

The course duration is 8-10 months (including clinical placements), with intakes in March, June, and October.

The fee is $3,431 per subject, with FEE-HELP available.

Entry Requirements

Applicants must demonstrate:

• Completion of a UTS-recognised bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in nursing or midwifery academic qualification or an equivalent
• Current registration as a registered nurse or midwife in Australia (AHPRA)

English Language Requirements

English language requirements apply to both international and domestic students. The English proficiency requirement for international students or local applicants with international qualifications is:

• Academic IELTS: 6.5 overall with a writing score of 6.0
• TOEFL: paper-based: 550-583 overall with TWE of 4.5, internet-based: 79-93 overall with a writing score of 21
• AE5: Pass
• PTE: 58-64 with a writing score of 50
• C1A/C2P: 176-184 with a writing score of 169

Recognition of Prior Learning

Previous studies or employment experience can be acknowledged as credit towards online postgraduate studies, provided that it meets the relevant course requirements.
