About the Program
The Bachelor's degree in History – Concentration: International Relations is awarded by Sorbonne Université and is conducted in French at Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi. This program offers a concentration in international relations with two specialized tracks:
- Political Science and Diplomacy
- Geopolitics and International Security
Students are equipped to comprehend and analyze the contemporary world, preparing them for advanced studies, including a Master's degree, and prospective careers in the expansive field of international relations.
The curriculum adopts a multidisciplinary, global, and interconnected perspective, exploring themes from antiquity to contemporary issues. Each course is selected for its relevance to today's political, economic, social, religious, cultural, and diplomatic challenges, enhanced by workshops dedicated to analyzing current events. These workshops are designed to empower students to interpret and engage with contemporary issues through innovative pedagogical methodologies. Additionally, elective courses enable students to customize their academic experience by acquiring skills in digital humanities, digital diplomatics, research methodology, and foreign languages.
Professional Development
A significant component of this program is professional development, including a mandatory two-month internship in the final semester, which can be undertaken either in the UAE or internationally, facilitated by SUAD's Erasmus + partnerships. Study projects encourage students to liaise with professionals through seminars and to explore topics that inform their career choices based on the selected track.
The courses are delivered by internationally revered faculty members, who are recognized authorities in their respective fields, ensuring adherence to the high standards of excellence and rigor typical of the French educational system.
