Matariki Network of Universities Summer Research Fellowship
The Matariki Network of Universities Summer Research Fellowship provides an experiential learning opportunity for highly motivated undergraduate students to travel and conduct research at an MNU partner institution. This fellowship is intended to provide students with meaningful opportunities and increase their international research exposure.
Funding Availability
Funding for up to 2 students from Queen's University, working full-time hours over 12-14 weeks, will be available with each fellowship. Each institution will contribute $10,000 CDN per fellowship. The MNU Summer Research Fellowships will support applications from all research disciplines. Students can also consider projects outside of their own academic field of study, in addition to those aligned with their field of study.
Fellowship Details
- Fellowships are valued at $10,000 CAD.
- Students are expected to work full-time hours at 35hrs/week for a typical duration of 12 weeks from May to August. Any revision to this timeline (with 8 weeks being the minimum and 14 weeks the maximum duration) must be approved by the supervisor and will be reflected in the value of the fellowship.
Requirements for Students
- Need to be enrolled at an MNU university at the time of the Fellowship
- Have a minimum GPA of 3.5 (on a 4.0 scale)
- Meet the research project and employment requirements as agreed upon with their supervisor
- Write a post-visit report within 30 days of return date highlighting the work that was carried out during this fellowship
- Are expected to present their research at the MNU Student Poster Summit
- Are also encouraged to present their research at their home institution
- Information on publications and patents submitted as outcomes of this fellowship need to be shared with MNU
