The Erasmus Mundus Master's program in Mediterranean Forestry and Natural Resources (MEDfOR) is a unique program in Europe dedicated to Mediterranean forests. The program aims to contribute to the teaching of new methods and instruments that allow for improved management of forests and natural resources in the Mediterranean region, while defining new policies for the forestry sector.

Objectives

The program's objectives are to provide students with the knowledge and skills necessary to respond to the challenges facing the forestry sector in the region and worldwide. The program brings together specialists and professors of high renown in the field and is managed by a consortium of universities of recognized value, including the University of Padua, the University of Tuscia (Italy), the University of Valladolid, the University of Lleida (Spain), the Karadeniz Technical University (Turkey), the Catholic University of Porto, and the University of Lisbon (Portugal).

Program Structure

The program offers a high level of mobility, with students taking a 42-credit course (ECTS) in the first year at one of the participating universities (Lleida, Padua, or Lisbon), as well as an intensive course at the University of Valladolid (Winter School) and two e-learning units (one from the University of Valladolid and one from the University of Padua). In the second year, students can opt for one of seven specializations offered at the participating universities. The second semester of the second year is dedicated to the development of the Master's thesis.
