نظرة عامة على البرنامج

Electrical Engineering Program

The Electrical Engineering department was established in 2016 and has four academic staff: 1 professor, 3 assistant professors, and 1 teaching assistant. The department awards a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering under the condition that students complete at least 153 hours, four and a half years of studying, and study units accredited by the Public Education Evaluation Commission, compulsory units accredited by the Faculty of Engineering, and other units accredited by the selected engineering course.

Mission

To pursue quality, innovation, and excellence in teaching, applied learning, and entrepreneurial research; to foster strong community, corporate, industrial, and academic partnerships locally and internationally, and to promote cultural diversity within the Electrical Engineering field.

Program Educational Objectives

The Electrical Engineering program seeks to have graduates who are:

  1. Successful professionals in using their knowledge to develop innovative solutions to real-world problems in the field of electrical engineering.
  2. Engaged in active lifelong learning, using appropriate learning strategies, to acquire and apply new knowledge as needed.
  3. Effective contributors in business and society, demonstrating effective leadership and the ability to communicate, work in teams, and understand the broad implications of their work.

Student Outcomes

The program aims for students to have the following abilities:

  1. An ability to identify, formulate, and solve complex engineering problems by applying principles of engineering, science, and mathematics.
  2. An ability to apply engineering design to produce solutions that meet specified needs with consideration of public health, safety, and welfare, as well as global, cultural, social, environmental, and economic factors.
  3. An ability to communicate effectively with a range of audiences.
  4. An ability to recognize ethical and professional responsibilities in engineering situations and make informed judgments, which must consider the impact of engineering solutions in global, economic, environmental, and societal contexts.
  5. An ability to function effectively on a team whose members together provide leadership, create a collaborative and inclusive environment, establish goals, plan tasks, and meet objectives.
  6. An ability to develop and conduct appropriate experimentation, analyze and interpret data, and use engineering judgment to draw conclusions.
  7. An ability to acquire and apply new knowledge as needed, using appropriate learning strategies.
