Program Overview

The Summer Program for Young Scientists 2019 is organized by the International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis (IIASA) in collaboration with the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology. The program is held at the IIASA headquarters in Laxenburg, Austria, and lasts for three months from June to August every year.

Program Description

The program is designed for PhD students who are approximately two years away from completing their degree and are working in a research area compatible with the ongoing research at IIASA. Participants will work under the direct supervision of experienced scientists at IIASA in a unique, multidisciplinary research environment. The goal is to explore the impact of their work on decision-makers.

Program Details

Based on a cooperation agreement between the Academy and IIASA, the institute will cover all expenses for an accepted Egyptian researcher, depending on the quality of the data and materials provided in the application and the compatibility of the research area with IIASA's programs. Researchers residing in Germany are also encouraged to apply, as there is an opportunity for the German side to fund their participation.

Eligibility and Application

The program is open to PhD students who meet the specified criteria. Applications are evaluated based on the quality of the research proposal and the applicant's qualifications.
