Master's Program in Fundamentals of Jurisprudence

Overview

The Master's Program in Fundamentals of Jurisprudence was established in 1429/2008 and is one of the postgraduate programs offered by the Department of Fundamentals of Jurisprudence at the College of Sharia. The program accepts students based on the regulations governing postgraduate studies and their executive rules at Qassim University, in addition to decisions issued by the university council.

Objectives

1. Provide students with basic knowledge and concepts in the field of fundamentals of jurisprudence and its rules.
2. Develop students' abilities in analyzing texts and deriving branches from principles.
3. Equip students with the basics of teamwork and responsibility in a professional environment.
4. Enable students to conduct scientific research using technology.
5. Achieve community development and self-sufficiency in scientific and developmental needs, in accordance with the specialization areas.

Learning Outcomes

• Knowledge and Understanding:
  • Identify and explain fundamental jurisprudential methodologies, rules of inference, and their differences with precision.
  • Analyze and explain how to adapt contemporary jurisprudential issues and apply them to fundamental rules.
• Skills:
  • Distinguish between correct and incorrect methods of inference with accuracy and mastery.
  • Apply various jurisprudential skills: fundamental and jurisprudential derivation, inference, criticism, and balance.
  • Utilize fundamental rules to understand evidence and apply them to contemporary issues.
  • Master the skill of jurisprudential research, drafting issues, and scientific documentation from the books of fundamentalists and electronic sources.
• Values, Independence, and Responsibility:
  • Adhere to the ethics of scientific research and the etiquette of disagreement and debate.
  • Possess the ability to interact positively in teamwork and make sound decisions.
  • Participate actively in meeting community needs through planning in research problems.

Program Message

To provide advanced cognitive and skill-based education for preparing qualified researchers in the fundamentals of jurisprudence, its rules, and the purposes of Sharia, capable of innovating research that addresses scientific and community problems, and qualifying them to occupy legal, judicial, academic, and consulting positions, through the use of the latest varied educational technology methods. The program has obtained full national academic accreditation until the end of August 2026.
