Clinical Training

The clinical training program is divided into two stages: Basic Pharmacy Practice (IPPE) and Advanced Pharmacy Practice (APPE).

IPPE Courses

• Pharmacy Practice Course 1: Focuses on community and health, with training in hospitals.
• Pharmacy Practice Course 2: Focuses on community service and pharmaceutical care, with training in health centers and community pharmacies.

APPE Courses

The APPE program is the final year of the Doctor of Pharmacy program and consists of nine training courses, each lasting five weeks. The training takes place in various hospitals, health institutions, and pharmacy sectors.

Objectives of the APPE Program

• Train students to work professionally and learn the ethics of the profession.
• Introduce students to pharmacy care standards and practice.
• Develop students' clinical skills.
• Train students to cooperate with the medical team in designing an integrated treatment plan to ensure the highest standards of quality and patient safety.
• Develop students' professional and personal skills to support their communication with patients and the work team.
• Introduce students to all areas of pharmacy work.
• Acquire basic research skills.

Tasks of the Training and Internship Unit

• Ensure suitable training seats for students with hospitals, companies, and pharmacies.
• Administrative arrangements for training courses, including schedules, follow-up, and grade collection from course supervisors.
• Supervise student evaluation and grade tracking.
• Determine unified evaluation criteria, models, and tools.
• Follow up on student performance and training sites by conducting regular field visits to improve the level of training and ensure its quality.
• Implement educational programs that contribute to educating internship students and providing them with the necessary skills for practice and research during the internship year.
• Follow up and solve any problems faced by internship students, where the unit receives all problems, comments, and complaints raised by students during the training period and refers them to the relevant committees if necessary.
