M.Ed on Education and Innovation: EDUEIT - Enquiry and Innovation Thesis

The M.Ed on Education and Innovation program offers a course titled EDUEIT - Enquiry and Innovation Thesis. This course is designed for students who opt for the research route within the program.

Course Description

This course is offered over two semesters and builds on the six-credit Introduction to Enquiry Methods and Innovation course in the Master of Education and Innovation Program. Before this course, students will have already started developing their plans for their enquiry and innovation project. They will have already drafted research questions and objectives in relation to a professional problem or challenge, identified their strategy for recruiting sample/research participants to their project, and designed the methods of data collection and processes and procedures of data analysis they will use.

Course Objectives

The course takes students through the stages of thesis proposal development, implementation, data analysis, presentation of findings, and project reporting. Students will plan and review individually their enquiry and innovation proposal on a topic related to a challenge or problem they face in their educational practice with the aim of addressing the problem through innovating with aspects of their practice.

Assessment

Students will be assessed by a written thesis which they will submit and orally defend before a panel of faculty.
