Bachelor of Law in English Program

The Bachelor of Law in English program is designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the legal system and its applications. The program aims to establish and enhance the practical-professional side of theoretical legal scholarship, develop multi-layered thinking skills, and enable students to conduct legal research at the undergraduate level.

Program Goals

The program goals are to:

• Establish and enhance the practical-professional side of the theoretical legal scholarship.
• Develop multi-layered thinking skills and abilities.
• Enable the students to conduct legal research at the undergraduate level within a sound scholarly method.
• Instill a life-long concept of continuing education.
• Prepare the students for the varied work skills and enable them to skillfully employ those skills to both advance themselves and the institutions they represent.
• Supply the students with the values and principles that persons of the law need to constantly sustain, and under all circumstances, through abiding by the Arabic and Islamic values.

Program Learning Outcomes

Upon the successful completion of the program, students should be able to:

1. Identify the core principles of the Emirati legal system and its substantive and procedural rules.
2. Critically analyze legal concepts and problems in their historical and contemporary context, formulate potential solutions, and defend conclusions by evaluating relevant legal sources, ideas, and evidence.
3. Integrate knowledge and techniques associated with the discipline of law to effectively engage with the evolving nature of the discipline, legal profession, and legal practice.
4. Synthesize and manage information through effective legal research strategies and responsible use of appropriate resources, tools, digital, and other media.
5. Communicate orally and in writing through the appropriate use of media, technology, and modes of communication with lawyers, clients, and others.
6. Engage in self-reflection and, within a coherent ethical framework, recognize different perspectives and roles in society, and make decisions consistent with professional responsibilities.
7. Perform assigned legal tasks effectively and independently, specifically by exhibiting an ability to learn independently and manage time.
8. Participate in cooperative groups to contribute actively and fairly in completing the assigned tasks and activities to meet team roles.
9. Work effectively as a member of a team and apply leadership, self-learning, and time management skills to meet tasks and projected goals.

Admission Requirements

All applicants must satisfy the following basic admission requirements:

1. A minimum High School Average of 75% for Elite, 80% Advanced Track, and 85% for General Track or equivalent in Standardized International test.
2. EmSAT score of 1100 for English Language or TOEFL score of 550 or IELTS score of 5.5, or any other equivalent English Proficiency Test approved by the CAA.
3. EmSAT score of 800 in Mathematics or equivalent.
4. Passing a personal interview set by the College of Law in addition to other conditions of admission set by the university.

Tuition Fee

The tuition fee for the program is 30,351 AED per semester.

The university requirements include 24 credit hours, with 18 credit hours being compulsory and 6 credit hours being elective. The compulsory requirements cover seven domains:

Study Plan
