Introduction to the 7th Workshop on Active Methodologies

The 7th Workshop on Active Methodologies will take place on July 2, 3, and 4, 2025, at the Faculty of Dentistry of Piracicaba. This event, organized by the Teaching Committee of the Brazilian Society of Physiology and the Postgraduate Program in Dentistry of the Faculty of Dentistry of Piracicaba, aims to disseminate and share teaching practices.


Program Structure

The workshop will feature four workshops, conferences, and roundtable discussions on neuroscience and education, mental health of educators, professionalization of teaching, and collaborative practices among teachers.


Detailed Program

  • July 2, 2025:
    • 9:00-9:30 AM: Coffee break and distribution of materials (Noble Hall)
    • 9:30-10:00 AM: Opening (Noble Hall)
    • 10:00 AM-12:30 PM: Opening conference - Uniting Neuroscience and Education to Improve Learning (Noble Hall)
    • 12:30-2:30 PM: Lunch
    • 2:30-4:30 PM: Workshops
      • Workshop 1: Understanding how our brain learns to improve teaching (Active Methodologies Room)
      • Workshop 2: Teaching with Educational RPG (Computer Room)
      • Workshop 3 (Part I): Objective and Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE) in Dentistry (Physiology Laboratory) by Prof. Dr. Diogo Miranda (PUC Minas – Belo Horizonte, MG) and others to be specified in the detailed program schedule for this day and time slot, focusing on practical applications and interactive learning experiences for participants across different educational levels and professional backgrounds, including but not limited to educators, researchers, and students in the fields of dentistry, education, and related sciences, with the goal of enhancing teaching methodologies and promoting collaborative, active learning environments.

        • Station VIII: Physiology in Action - Use of Reels, Memes, and Visual Maps in Higher Education
      • Workshop 5: Active methodologies and technologies promoting learning in basic education (Physiology Laboratory)

        • Station II: Understanding transport through the membrane
        • Station III: Technological resources for teaching Biology and Mathematics
        • Station IV: Cell game
        • Station V: Game of ecological relationships
    • 10:00-10:30 AM: Coffee break
