Introduction to the O-NECUS Exchange Program
The O-NECUS project is a collaborative effort between Jilin University and Okayama University in Japan, aiming to cultivate international talent. The program is open to master's students in the humanities and social sciences.
Program Details
Study Period
The study period for the O-NECUS exchange program is from October 2021 to September 2022.
Study Majors
Okayama University's Graduate School of Social and Cultural Sciences offers various majors for exchange students. For specific information on available majors and supervising professors, please refer to the attached document.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the program, applicants must:
- Be full-time, non-commissioned master's students in the humanities or social sciences at Jilin University (2020 intake)
- Be in good physical and mental health, with excellent academic performance and no disciplinary record
- Have no pending coursework or exams
- Meet the language requirements:
- Pass the Japanese Language Proficiency Test (Level 2 or above)
- Submit language proficiency certificates during application
Fees and Expenses
- Tuition fees at Okayama University will be waived; however, students must pay their regular tuition fees at Jilin University
- Students are responsible for their own accommodation, international travel, living expenses, and insurance
Application Requirements and Procedures
Application Process
- Students must discuss their exchange plans with their supervisors and academic units, ensuring that their coursework, internships, and thesis defense are properly arranged
- Download and complete the application materials (attached documents) and the Jilin University Application Form for Overseas Study (for graduate students)
- Obtain signatures from supervisors and unit leaders, and submit the application materials to the International Cooperation and Exchange Office
Selection Process
- Eligible students will be recommended by the International Cooperation and Exchange Office to Okayama University
- Okayama University will review the applications and conduct a selection exam to determine the final admission results
Application Deadline
The application deadline is September 21 (Monday)
Note
Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the exchange program's schedule and arrangements will be subject to the entry and exit regulations of China and the host country, as well as the relevant management regulations of both universities.
