Introduction to the MBBS Program

The MBBS Program at Xiamen University is a comprehensive undergraduate program designed for international students. The program is taught in English and has a duration of 6 years.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the MBBS Program, applicants must meet the following requirements:

1. General Requirements: Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens aged between 18 and 25 by September 1st, 2026, be mentally and physically healthy, and possess a valid regular passport.
2. Academic Requirements: Applicants should be a graduating senior high school student or hold a senior high school diploma with a satisfactory academic record.
3. Language Proficiency Requirement: Applicants must have a TOEFL IBT Certificate with an overall minimum score of 80, an IELTS Academic Certificate with an overall minimum score of 6.0, or an English-as-medium-of-instruction Certificate from the high school where English is the primary language of instruction.

Application Timeline

• Self-funded applicants: December 1 May 10, 2026
• Applicants for other scholarships: December 1 April 10, 2026

Application Procedures

1. Online Application: Applicants must establish an account, fill out the application form online, and submit application materials.
2. Application Documents: Applicants must submit the following documents:

• A scanned copy of the first page of the passport
• Birth Certificate
• Parents' Identity Documents
• Senior High School Diploma and the Academic Transcripts
• Language Proficiency Certificate
• One Letter of Recommendation
• Personal Statement (minimum 800 words)
• Pre-Acceptance Letter
• Physical Examination Record for Inbound Travelers
• Financial Support Guarantee Statement and its supporting documents
• No Criminal Record Report

3. Qualification Verification: A comprehensive review will be conducted on the applicant's foreign citizenship, highest degree diploma, academic performance, language proficiency, research plans, recommendations, physical and mental health, etc.
4. Academic Evaluation: The medical school will conduct academic evaluations, including evaluating application documents and conducting remote interviews or written tests on applicants as necessary.
5. Admission: The admission decision will be verified based on the applicant's qualifications and academic evaluation results.

Program Details

• Length of Program: 6 years
• Duration of Study: 68 years for 6-year Bachelor's Degree Programs
• Conferral of Degree: Students will be awarded a graduation certificate by Xiamen University after they have completed all the courses prescribed in the academic scheme and have satisfied the graduation requirements within the duration of study prescribed by Xiamen University.

Study Cost

• Registration Fee: RMB 400 (paid upon online registration, non-refundable)
• Tuition Fee: RMB 38,000/year for the English-medium MBBS program
• Accommodation Fee: The Xiang'an campus charges 1600 yuan per person per academic year
• Medical Insurance: RMB 800 per year

Monitoring, Complaints, and Action for Misconduct

Applicants are responsible for the truthfulness and accuracy of the information and documents they have submitted. Failure to meet the admission regulations for international students or any falsification or misrepresentation, whenever it is confirmed, will result in disqualification of application, enrollment, student status, graduation, and degrees awarded in accordance with the regulations of the educational authorities and the University.
