Introduction to the SMU Global Summer Programme

The SMU Global Summer Programme is a prestigious academic program hosted by the Singapore Management University, designed to enhance students' knowledge and skills in Asian studies, digital intelligence, and sustainable development, while promoting cross-cultural exchange.

Program Details

1. Program Structure: The program offers three professional directions, providing over 20 courses in Asian studies, digital intelligence, and sustainable development. Students can choose up to two courses without time conflicts.
2. Program Duration:
   • First period: June 23, 2025, to July 17, 2025 (25 days)
   • Second period: July 7, 2025, to August 1, 2025 (25 days)
3. Language of Instruction: English is the primary language used.
4. Academic Credits: Each successfully completed course awards one SMU credit, equivalent to 6-7.5 ECTS credits, 10-12 CATS credits, or 3-4 US credits.
5. Accommodation: The university recommends partner hotels, with prices starting from SGD 80 per night (excluding 10% service charge and prevailing goods and services tax).
6. Program Fees:
   • Application fee: SGD 150
   • Tuition fees: SGD 230
   • Course fees: SGD 3,270 for one course, SGD 5,450 for two courses
   • A non-refundable deposit of SGD 1,000 is required upon acceptance for non-SMU students.

Eligibility and Application

1. Eligibility:
   • Full-time undergraduate and graduate students from Xiamen University
   • Age 18 and above
   • Language proficiency: TOEFL iBT 90, TOEFL PBT 577, or IELTS 6.5
2. Application Materials:
   • University admission proof or previous semester's English transcript
   • English proficiency certificate (if applicable)
   • Passport homepage
   • Recent photo (within three months)
3. Application Deadline: April 15, 2025

Additional Information

• Xiamen University students are eligible for a 10% tuition fee discount. If more than five students are accepted, a 15% discount applies.
• Students who complete the program and enroll in SMU's graduate program within five years may receive a SGD 4,000 tuition fee subsidy.
• The application fee is non-refundable and must be paid within three days of application submission.
