Introduction to the 2025 Summer Program at Japan's Central University

The 2025 summer program at Japan's Central University, titled "Sustainable Society and Global Governance," aims to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of Japanese culture while enhancing their cross-cultural exchange and international understanding abilities.

Program Details

1. The program is hosted by the International Department of Japan's Central University and focuses on the theme of "Sustainable Society and Global Governance." It consists of multiple components, including course lectures, field research, and cultural experiences.
2. The program duration is from August 17, 2025, to August 23, 2025 (7 days).
3. The program location is Tokyo, Japan.
4. The total number of participants is 40.
5. The language of instruction is English.
6. The program fee is 136,000 Japanese yen (approximately 6,900 Chinese yuan), which includes registration fees, tuition, visa invitation letter preparation fees, international postage fees, overseas accident insurance fees, full-board accommodation fees, Japan airport pickup fees, and chartered bus rental fees. However, it does not cover personal passport and Japanese visa application fees, round-trip international air tickets and domestic air tickets in China, international excess baggage fees, meal fees during the program, and public transportation fees during the program.
7. The application deadline is June 15, 2025.

Application Qualifications

1. Full-time undergraduate and graduate students of Xiamen University who are not in their final year, with no restrictions on majors.
2. Applicants must possess fluent English communication skills (Japanese is not required).
3. The age range for applicants is between 18 and 26 years old.

Application Procedure

1. Project Application Process:
   • Students must submit their applications through the link provided by the project organizer before June 15, 2025.
   • Additionally, applicants must fill out the project registration form (Appendix 1) and send it to the project office email, with the subject line formatted as "Project Name + Applicant's Name + Affiliated School and College + Undergraduate/Graduate Year Level."
2. Internal Application Process:
   • Before June 15, 2025, students must fill out the internal application form and submit it to the foreign affairs secretary of their college.
   • The foreign affairs secretary of the college will then send the internal application form (scanned version) and the college's response (Excel version) to the email of the international affairs staff member, with the subject line formatted as "Project Name + Applicant's Name + Affiliated College + Undergraduate/Graduate Year Level."

Notes

1. Applicants must hold a valid passport with an expiration date at least six months after the program's end date.
2. The program lasts for 7 days, and participants must attend all activities.
