Introduction to the Program
The Research Data Management (RDM) Support Personnel Training Program is designed to provide training for individuals who wish to pursue a career in research data management. The program is offered by the Graduate School of Integrated Sciences for Innovation, Kyushu University.
Eligibility for Admission
To be eligible for admission to the program, applicants must meet one of the following requirements:
- Have graduated from a university or be expected to graduate by September 30, 2025
- Have been awarded a bachelor's degree or be expected to be awarded a bachelor's degree by September 30, 2025
- Have completed a 16-year course of education in a foreign country or be expected to complete it by September 30, 2025
- Have completed a course of study in a foreign country that is recognized as equivalent to a 16-year course of education in Japan
- Have been recognized as having academic ability equivalent to or higher than that of a university graduate by the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology
- Have completed a course of study at a foreign university or other foreign educational institution that is recognized as equivalent to a university course of study in Japan
- Have completed a specialized course at a vocational school that meets certain standards set by the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology
- Have been recognized as having academic ability equivalent to or higher than that of a university graduate by the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology
Completion Requirements and Certificate of Completion
To complete the program, students must earn 5 credits by completing 5 courses. Upon completion, students will be awarded a certificate of completion.
Duration of the Program
The program is designed to be completed in one year, from October 1, 2025, to September 30, 2026.
Number of Students to be Admitted
The program plans to admit approximately 10 students for the 2025 academic year.
Location of the Program
The program will be held at the Ito Campus of Kyushu University and online.
Application Period
The application period for the 2025 academic year is from June 18, 2025, to June 27, 2025.
Application Procedure
Applicants must submit the following documents to the Administrative Office of the Graduate School of Integrated Sciences for Innovation, Kyushu University:
- Application form
- Resume
- Statement of purpose
- Certificate of graduation or expected graduation
- Academic transcript
- Enclosed return envelope with stamp
- Payment slip for the examination fee
Examination Fee
The examination fee is 9,800 yen (non-taxable).

The examination fee can be paid by:
- Convenience store payment
- Credit card payment

For Kyushu University Students
Kyushu University students who wish to take courses in the program must consult with their academic advisor in advance. The program is open to all Kyushu University students, but the completion requirements may vary depending on the student's academic program.
