KLIKK Elternseminar

Introduction

The KLIKK Elternseminar is a further education seminar for parents of gifted children. It was developed by Prof. Dr. Franzis Preckel and Dr. Dietrich Arnold, with the participation of Iris Groflgasteiger.


Contents

The seminar focuses on discovering new and rediscovering existing competencies that can enrich the daily life of families with gifted children. It provides strategies for dealing with the high giftedness of a child, ensuring the well-being of family members.


  • Communication: Valuable communication techniques for constructive relationship building
  • Solution-oriented approach: Suggestions for jointly solving family conflicts
  • Motivation: Approaches to promoting child motivation
  • Stress: Dealing with and preventing stress, such as setting boundaries

Target Group

The seminar is designed for parents (single or as a couple) of intellectually highly gifted children in kindergarten and elementary school age. No test results for the child/children are required for registration.

  • Participation fee: 250 for single persons, 450 for couples

Development of the Seminar

The KLIKK-Elterntraining was developed by Dr. Dietrich Arnold and Prof. Dr. Franzis Preckel from 2006 to 2008. The Karg-Stiftung supported the development of the course offerings and the scientific evaluation. The experiences from the KLIKK project were communicated in the parents' handbook "Hochbegabte Kinder klug begleiten" (Beltz 2011).


Cancellation Policy

A refund of the participation fee is only possible up to 4 weeks before the event, with a deduction of a processing fee (40 per person). In case of cancellations at a later date, a refund is not possible, unless the freed-up place can be filled at short notice.
