EMT Certification Course

The Emergency Medical Technician Training Course is designed to prepare and qualify a student to take the National Registry of EMTs (NREMT) EMT written and psychomotor tests for certification as an EMT.

2026 Schedule

EMT (Basic)

• Winter 2026: January 8, 2026 - April 14, 2026
• Classes: Tuesday & Thursday evenings, 5:30-9:30pm
• Tuition: $815

Advanced EMT

• Winter 2026: January 8, 2026 - April 14, 2026
• Classes: Tuesday & Thursday evenings, 5:30-9:30pm
• Tuition: $905
  • A $100 discount is available for volunteer fire departments.
  • Discounts for the winter 2026 courses expire on November 1, 2026.

Requirements

• To take the Advanced EMT class, students must have a current Utah EMT License by the start of the course.
• No refunds will be given for any reason once the course begins, including failure to obtain the Utah EMT certification.

BYU Standards for Participants

BYU is a private university owned by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. As such, the university has certain standards that participants are expected to follow, including:

• No smoking or drinking of alcohol, coffee, or tea is permitted on the BYU campus.
• Participants are asked to wear modest clothing while on campus.
• Language should be free of obscenities and vulgarity while on the BYU campus.
