Program Overview

The Gesundheits- und (Kinder-)Krankenpfleger*in für die Pflege in der Onkologie program is a comprehensive training course designed for healthcare professionals seeking to specialize in oncology care. The program aims to equip participants with the necessary skills and knowledge to provide high-quality, patient-centered care to individuals with cancer.


Program Objectives

The program's primary objectives are to:

Program Structure

  • 770 hours of theoretical instruction
  • Approximately 1,900 hours of practical training
  • A combination of online, hybrid, and on-campus learning formats

Practical Training

The practical training component is divided into:


  • Mandatory training areas:
    • Internal oncology (minimum 500 hours)
    • Surgical oncology (minimum 500 hours)
    • Radiation therapy (minimum 250 hours)
    • Palliative care (minimum 250 hours)
  • Elective training areas:
    • Minimum 300 hours in specialized oncology care settings, such as:
      • Pediatric oncology
      • Oncology rehabilitation
      • Psycho-oncology
      • Nutrition counseling
      • Wound management
      • Pain management

Admission Requirements

To be eligible for the program, applicants must:


  • Hold a completed training certificate in nursing (Gesundheits- und Krankenpflegerin, Gesundheits- und Kinderkrankenpflegerin, Altenpfleger*in, or Pflegefachfrau/Pflegefachmann)
  • Have a minimum of six months of professional experience in oncology care
  • Submit required documents, including:
    • Application letter
    • Curriculum vitae
    • Passport photo
    • Copy of exam certificate
    • Copy of professional license
    • Proof of professional experience

Program Duration and Fees

The program lasts for two years, with a total fee of 6,600 EUR. The program starts on January 11 and ends on December 29.


Target Audience

Certification

Upon completion of the program, participants will receive a Master of Advanced Studies (MAS) degree, recognized at the DQR Niveau 7 level. The program is worth 120 ECTS credits, which can be transferred to future academic programs.
