Master of Cybersecurity and Threat Intelligence (MCTI)

The University of Guelph offers a Master of Cybersecurity and Threat Intelligence (MCTI) program, which is Canada's only one-year Master's program focusing on Threat Intelligence. This program aims to create the next generation of cybersecurity professionals.

Admission Requirements

Applicants must meet the following minimum admission requirements:


  • A four-year honours degree in computer science or computer engineering (or related discipline), or a four-year honours degree in another discipline with a minor in computer science or computer engineering (or related discipline).
  • Relevant experience or background knowledge of Data Communication and Networking and Computer Programming.
  • A minimum average of 75% (B) during the previous two years of full-time study.
  • English proficiency test results (if applicable).

Application and Program Timing

  • Full-time and part-time admission to the MCTI program is available in the Fall, Winter, and Summer semesters.
  • The official deadlines for domestic applicants are July 31 for Fall, November 30 for Winter, and April 30 for Summer.
