Introduction to the Friends of Eastern Scholarship Program

The Friends of Eastern scholarship program is an initiative by Utah State University Eastern to foster student growth and enhance campus and community involvement. This program is designed for prospective students who visit the campus, apply, and confirm their enrollment after a campus visit.

Program Details

• The program was started by a collection of anonymous donors to bolster recruitment and retention efforts at USU Eastern.
• Donations to the program will go directly to furthering this initiative, with 75% of the contributions utilized within the academic year to support immediate needs and the remaining 25% earmarked to establish an endowment.
• The endowment is designed to sustain ongoing recruitment and retention initiatives, ensuring the enduring success of USU Eastern in perpetuity.
• Any surplus funds from the 75% allocation at the conclusion of the aid year will be reallocated to build the endowment.

Eligibility and Benefits

• Students who qualify can receive a $100 scholarship once they have confirmed enrollment at USU Eastern after participating in a campus visit.
• An additional $100 housing scholarship is available for students who confirm they will live on campus.

Objectives

• One of the main goals of this program is to attract out-of-area students to come to USU Eastern, sending a strong message that not only does USU Eastern want them as students, but local businesses also want them to come to Price.
• The program aims to make students feel welcomed in the Price community, which already does an excellent job of helping people and students feel at home.
