Academic Dutch & English Program

The Academic Dutch & English program is designed for students who wish to improve their language skills in Dutch and English. The program consists of various courses and services, including language tests, translations, and proofreading.

One-year Dutch Programme

The One-year Dutch programme is a comprehensive course that covers all aspects of the Dutch language. The program is designed for students who want to learn Dutch from scratch or improve their existing language skills.

Application Procedure

The application procedure for the Academic Dutch & English program involves several steps:

1. Fill out the application form: Students must fill out the application form for the academic year before August 31, 2026.
2. Pay the advance fee: Students must pay the advance fee of 2,000 before August 31, 2026.
3. Do the interview: A 15-20 minute video call will be scheduled to test the student's level of English, familiarity with the Dutch Language Year Programme, and motivation.
4. Provide legalised documents: If the interview is successful, students must provide legalised documents by post before September 7, 2026.
5. Get a Letter of Acceptance: Students will receive a Letter of Acceptance upon a positive evaluation, which serves as a formal invitation to the program.
6. Pay the tuition fee: Students must pay the remaining tuition fee before September 14, 2026. The tuition fee is:
   • 2,895 for students who are nationals of a member state of the European Economic Area.
   • 4,625 for students who are not nationals of a member state of the European Economic Area.
7. Arrive in Belgium for the Prep Year's start: The Dutch Prep Year starts on September 14, 2026, and students must arrive in Belgium on time for the start of the program.
8. Get your Letter of Admission: The Letter of Admission will be issued once the student has paid the complete tuition fee, arrived in Belgium, and completed their online (pre)registration with the University of Antwerp.

Tuition Fees

The tuition fees for the Academic Dutch & English program are as follows:

• 2,895 for students who are nationals of a member state of the European Economic Area.
• 4,625 for students who are not nationals of a member state of the European Economic Area.

Program Start Date

The Dutch Prep Year starts on September 14, 2026.
