Program Overview

The Antwerp Tax Academy offers an Advanced Programme in Customs and Excise Continuing Education. This program is designed for participants who have already passed the basic programme or can prove equivalent experience.

Target Audience

This advanced module can be taken by participants who have already passed the basic programme (English and/or Dutch) or can prove that they have obtained an equivalent degree of experience.

Course Information

• The module consists of three and a half days of classes.
• Classes are taught in English and involve a high degree of interaction.
• All classes are recorded, and participants can listen to the recordings afterwards in preparation for the exam.
• A minimum individual attendance rate of at least 75% is required for both online and physical settings.

Exam

• The exam will take place at the Stadscampus, University of Antwerp.
• Foreign participants are offered the opportunity to take the exam from a distance.

Competence Level

This advanced module is designed to ensure participants achieve an advanced level of competence (Level 2 of the EU Customs Competency Framework).

Course Materials

Digital course materials are provided, including PowerPoints and court bundles, which will be made available through the university's electronic learning environment.

Location

The program will be held at the University of Antwerp, Stadscampus, Prinsstraat 13, 2000 Antwerp.

Tuition Fees

The tuition fee for this course is EUR 1,750, which covers registration, study materials, exam, catering, and lunch. Note that on the last class day, no lunch will be provided.

Registration

Registration is done electronically, and the registration fee is paid within 30 days of receipt of the debit note. Each application/registration is binding and cannot be cancelled, although replacement by a colleague is possible with written notification to the organizers.

Recognition

• The required approvals are requested from the competent authorities.
• The training is eligible for the Flemish training leave and training cheques.
• Recognition for paid educational leave is applicable.
• A training premium can be applied for after completing the training course.

Lecturers

The module is taught by a team of lecturers with relevant expertise from the academic world, the government sector, the private sector, and the legal profession. The module will be supervised by Ward Lietaert, Lawyer at Customs Legal.
