Introduction to the Sino-German College of Intelligent Engineering and Sustainable Development
The Sino-German College of Intelligent Engineering and Sustainable Development is a formally approved non-independent legal person Sino-foreign cooperative education institution (approval number: MOE42DEA02DNRN) jointly established by China University of Geosciences (Wuhan) and Anhalt University of Applied Sciences in Germany. The college focuses on the field of intelligent engineering and sustainable development, cultivating compound talents with a sense of national sentiment and international engineering certification qualifications. Graduates receive dual degrees from China and Germany.
College Overview
- The college offers the following majors:
- Undergraduate: Mechanical Design, Manufacturing and Automation, Automation, Geographic Information Engineering
- Master's: Geological Resources and Geological Engineering, Resources and Environment
Partner Institutions
- Chinese Partner: China University of Geosciences (Wuhan)
- A university directly under the Ministry of Education, a national key university, and a "211 Project" and "985 Advantageous Discipline Innovation Platform" and "Double First-Class" construction university.
- German Partner: Anhalt University of Applied Sciences
- A public university directly under the German federal state, a key university in the "Excellence Initiative" of the German Ministry of Education, and a member of the European Union's "Erasmus+" program.
Educational Features
- The college is positioned with a dual core of "intelligent engineering" and "sustainable development", integrating the essence of the Sino-German engineering education system, and building a characteristic training path of "German language strengthening + double tutor system + international certification".
- Dual enrollment and dual degree: students are enrolled in both Chinese and German key universities and receive dual degrees upon graduation.
- Joint training and scientific research: Sino-German double-teacher training, 1/3 of the courses are taught by German professors, and meet the European Union and German engineering education certification (ASIIN).
- Engineer + language certificate: after completing the training system, students can obtain a German engineer certificate and a German language B2/C1 level certificate.
Training Objectives
Through the complementary advantages of Sino-German higher education resources, introducing the industrial 4.0 engineering talent training system, and adopting the Sino-foreign cooperative education model, the college cultivates global high-end compound talents with international vision and a sense of national sentiment, academic research and engineering practice capabilities.
Training Model
- The undergraduate stage adopts a 4-year training model, with the first three years studying professional courses and German in China, and the fourth year sending excellent students to study in Germany.
- All students who meet the graduation conditions of both schools can receive degree certificates issued by both schools.
Enrollment Plan
- In 2025, the college plans to recruit 150 undergraduate students:
- Major | Enrollment Quota
- ----------------|----------------
- Mechanical Design, Manufacturing and Automation | 60
- Automation | 60
- Geographic Information Engineering | 30
Geographic Information Engineering Major
- The major is based on the academic advantages of China University of Geosciences (Wuhan) and Anhalt University of Applied Sciences in the fields of earth science, surveying and remote sensing, spatial information technology, and other fields.
- The training program is jointly developed by Sino-German teachers according to the academic advantages, teaching characteristics, training requirements, and employment needs of both schools, aiming to cultivate international compound talents in the field of surveying and geographic information who master new information technologies such as geographic information, remote sensing, navigation and positioning, big data, and artificial intelligence.
Fees and Expenses
- The undergraduate stage adopts a 4-year training model, with the first three years studying professional courses and German in China, and the fourth year sending excellent students to study in Germany.
- The annual tuition fee is 72,000 yuan for the Mechanical Design, Manufacturing and Automation major, 74,000 yuan for the Geographic Information Engineering major, and 75,000 yuan for the Automation major.
- During the normal study period in Germany, no additional tuition fees will be charged.
Graduation and Employment
- Graduates receive dual degree certificates (without the "Sino-foreign cooperative education" mark) and can apply for a German engineer certificate and a German language certificate.
- The rate of further study in Germany can reach 80%; graduates can apply for an 18-month job search visa in Germany; the average starting salary for engineer positions is 45,000 euros per year; after returning to China, they may enjoy priority recruitment by transnational corporations, salary premiums of 20%-30%, and preferential policies for overseas students to settle in China.
Policy Support
- A multi-level scholarship system is established:
- Domestic: national scholarships, inspirational scholarships, national assistance scholarships, and other social assistance scholarships
- German: state government scholarships (euros), German national scholarships (euros), corporate-funded scholarships, etc.
- Practice post subsidies are also provided, and students can participate in professor assistant or laboratory assistant positions during their study in Germany, with a salary of not less than 13.5 euros per hour (approximately 110 yuan).
