Introduction to the Wushu Kungfu Course

The Confucius Institute at the University of Minho is launching the 8th edition of the Wushu Kungfu course. This course will take place every Tuesday and Thursday from 8:30 to 9:30 AM, or every Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, starting on October 13, 2025, and ending on July 31, 2026. The instructors, Alexandre Oliveira and Ana Rita Rego, are certified in the field and are responsible for the Kung-fu Wushu "Jing-she" School, which has received several international awards.

Course Description

Modern Competitive Wushu developed from Traditional Wushu and is presented as a modern Olympic sport, combining ancient practices with modern sports principles. With a history of thousands of years and millions of practitioners worldwide, Wushu has over 150 affiliated federations in the IWUF and is a candidate for an Olympic sport, experiencing significant national and international growth in all its aspects.

Calendarization

The course will be held on:

• Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:30 to 9:30 AM
• Alternatively, on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays From October 13, 2025, to July 31, 2026

Inscriptions

• Minimum - Maximum Number of Participants: 4 - 12 people
• Registration Fee: 35 (payment must be made at the time of registration, and registration is only valid upon payment)

Additional Requirements
