Introduction to the University of Science and Technology Beijing

The University of Science and Technology Beijing (USTB) was founded in 1952 and has developed into one of the most influential key national universities in China. Its main focus is on engineering, while maintaining a balanced program consisting of science, management, humanities, economics, and law. USTB is part of the 211 Project, which is designed to develop a hundred first-rate universities in the 21st century.

Introduction to the Summer School Short-Term Credit Program

This project is aimed at international students interested in Chinese economy and culture. The project lasts for 2 weeks and includes courses in economics, lectures on economics, Chinese language courses, Chinese cultural experience courses, historical relics research activities, and a salon for youth exchange between China and foreign countries.

Program Details

• Provide graduation certificate and transcript.
  • The project is a credit project, with 4 credits for economics courses.
• Exchange between Chinese and foreign youth.
• Bilingual teaching in Chinese and English.
• International students participating in the project can be given priority in recommending and applying for undergraduate or graduate scholarships of USTB.

Admission Conditions

• Non-Chinese nationals, physically healthy, aged between 18 and 45 years old, with a high school degree or above, possessing good self-management skills, can study the courses in Chinese or English.
• Application materials:
  • Valid passport.
  • Certificate of highest education, or certificate of study in present school.
  • Health examination report.
  • ID photo.
  • Other supporting materials (award certificates, language proficiency certificates, etc).

Application Time and Method

• Application time: April 30, 2024, to June 25, 2024.
• Application method: Apply online, select short-term project type, select Economics and Chinese Language Credit Program, finish the application.

Project Time and Arrangement

• Project time: July 7, 2024, to July 21, 2024.

Project Costs

• Registration fee: 600 RMB.
• Tuition fee: 1500 RMB.
• Accommodation fee: 750 RMB.
• Visiting fee: 1000 RMB.

Scholarship

• A certain number of scholarships will be provided, including application fee, tuition fee, visiting fee, and accommodation fees.
• Students who meet the conditions (with a bachelor's degree or above) can apply for scholarships.
• The number of scholarships is limited, and it is suggested to apply as soon as possible.
• Students applying for scholarships can choose the corresponding scholarship category when applying in the system.
