Introduction to UNH Tech Camp
UNH Tech Camp is a set of summer programs for students entering grades 5-12, designed to support STEM pathways from early exploration to college readiness. The programs engage students in interactive, hands-on, problem-solving activities in the areas of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). Offered through the College of Engineering and Physical Sciences, Tech Camp provides students with access to state-of-the-art facilities, advanced technology, and award-winning faculty.
Program Details
- Commuter and Overnight options: Offered for all sessions except TechSplorers, which is Commuter only.
- Camp schedule: Commuter students attend from 8:30am-4:00pm. Overnight students' program begins Sunday evening.
- Meals: All campers have meals in a University dining hall.
Financial Aid
- Scholarships: A limited number of need-based scholarships are available, covering 50% of the session cost.
- Application deadline: March 15, 2026, at 11:59pm for financial aid applications.
- Scholarship decisions: Communicated to families via email by April 1, 2026.
Enrollment and Payment
- Enrollment opening: February 12, 2026.
- Deposit option: 25% of the camp fee, available until April 1, 2026.
- Full payment due: April 15, 2026.
- Payment methods: VISA, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover. Paper checks are accepted under limited circumstances.
Session Descriptions
TechSplorers
- For students entering grades 5-7.
- Introduction to various STEM areas through fun, collaborative, hands-on activities.
TechVenturers
- The Bridge Project: Students design and build a bridge for a real New Hampshire community, exploring civil engineering.
- Space Camp (But Way Cooler): Mars Edition: Students become Martian pioneers, building and launching model rockets, and designing habitats for long-term living on Mars.
- Ripping Rocketry: Hands-on exploration of rocketry and aerospace science, designing, building, and launching paper-based rockets.
- Data Detectives: Introduction to data science, learning how personal data is used to predict trends and solve complex problems.
- Code, Create, Play!: Mastering real-world coding skills through creating interactive games, animations, and art.
Refund Procedures
- Participants who request a Drop/Transfer 15 or more days prior to the session start date receive a refund minus a minimum $75 administrative fee.
- No refund for requests within 14 or fewer days of the session start date or on/after the session start date.
CampDoc
- UNH has partnered with CampDoc to quicken the enrollment process.
- Families receive an email prompting completion of registration questions after enrolling.
- All registration questions must be 100% complete in CampDoc before a student can attend a youth program.
Travel Information
- Tech Camp is held in Kingsbury Hall at the Durham campus.
- Additional travel information, including check-in location and times, is sent to participants by program staff prior to the session start date.
