Psychology Internship Training Program

The University of Nevada, Reno Counseling Services offers an APA-accredited psychology doctoral internship program. This program provides training in several areas of competency, focusing on developing interns' basic generalist skills in individual counseling, group counseling, assessment, consultation, outreach, and supervision.

Program Overview

The internship is an on-site experience, and the university is pleased to announce three full-time, one-year (2,000-hour) positions for the internship year. The stipend for the training year is $45,000, plus benefits.

Application Procedures

To apply, all materials must be submitted online by November 23, 2025, by 11:59 p.m. EST. Applicants will be notified of selection for an interview by December 12, 2025, by 5 p.m. PST. Interviews will be conducted via Zoom in early-mid January 2026. The APPIC Match Code is 2382.

The overarching internship aim is to train interns to be competent and versatile, entry-level generalist health service psychologists, especially in college or university counseling settings. The program has several specific objectives:

About the Center

The University of Nevada, Reno Counseling Services provides individual and group psychotherapy, crisis intervention, psychological assessment, outreach, consultation, and referrals to community health care providers. The center's mission is to provide personalized, culturally-responsive mental health services, training, and outreach to the University community.
