Introduction to the Infirmier en Pratique Avancée (IPA) Program

The Département de Médecine of the UFR3S offers a training program leading to the Diplôme d'Etat d'Infirmier en Pratique Avancée. This program is available in both initial and continuing education for candidates holding a diploma in nursing or a related field.

Objectives and Competencies

The objective of the IPA program is to train nurses in advanced practice, focusing on five authorized areas:

• Pathologies chroniques stabilisées
• Oncologie et hémato-oncologie
• Maladies rénales chroniques, dialyse et transplantation rénale
• Psychiatrie et santé mentale
• Urgences Nurses in advanced practice possess expanded competencies at the interface of nursing and medical practice.

Organization and Teaching Methods

The program is organized into two years, with a combination of theoretical courses and practical training. The first year includes 392 hours of coursework and 2 months of internship, while the second year comprises 243 hours of coursework and 4 months of internship. Teaching methods include lectures, directed studies, practical work, and simulation training. Some courses may be taught via video conferencing or e-learning.

Candidature and Admission

The application period for the academic year is open from March 16 to May 17. Applications are submitted through the e-candidat platform. A webinar presenting the IPA program is held in March.

Financial Support and Fees

The program is supported by the Agence Régionale de Santé Hauts-de-France, which provides financial aid to selected candidates. Tuition fees vary depending on the student's status: 254 euros for initial training and 2,940 euros or 4,704 euros for continuing education, depending on the financing arrangement.

Prise en Charge Financière

The Agence Régionale de Santé Hauts-de-France offers financial support to infirmiers libéraux or those working in health centers and ambulatory structures. The support includes compensation for tuition fees and loss of salary during the training period.
